Construction of trenched 250mm and 600mm x 2km pipelines in a common trench in mudflat and recovered land conditions at the Port of Brisbane |
Project
required the installation of parallel 610mm and 273mm OD API 5L X42 Dual Layer
epoxy coated steel pipelines and Launchers at the Caltex Crude wharf on
There
was also a 610mm OD Off Take Tee and section connecting to the Santos Crude
pipeline adjacent to the Refinery.
The
length of these lines was approximately 2km.
This
entailed construction in reclaimed ground and generally below the existing
water table along heavily trafficked roadways and tie in to two Horizontal
Directional Drilled sections, which took the lines under Boat Passage Creek and
was installed by others.
The
work required close coordination with Industrial tenants along the pipeline
route with Road bores under Bulk Terminals Drive and four crossings of heavy
industrial driveways leading into Sunstate Cement Limited. These were
accomplished without disruption to their operations. |
