Services to Client

Construction & Installation of 273km x 200mm oil pipeline with risers, main line valves, scrapper stations and laying of fibre optic cable.

Due to increased oil production from the Jackson/Tarbat areas of SW Queensland a new pipeline was required from Jackson to Moomba. The pipeline was273 km of 200mm steel, the entire length of this pipeline was buried, except for the risers, main line valves (MLV) and scraper stations.
The contract covered the construction of the pipeline together with all MLVs, tie-in points, and a mid line pigging station. A fibre optic cable was also laid in the pipeline trench.

Project Execution Plan
Construction was in accordance with Santos Specifications, AS2885 and referenced codes in accordance with the standard industry practice.  The existing 120 personnel DCC camp in Jackson with additional facilities as required was utilised at the commencement of the project. A second camp was mobilised to Epsilon (130km) as per the construction schedule as it progressed towards Tickalara. A special works and crossings crew worked in a similar manner, starting at Jackson and completing all road, track, creek and dune crossings along the route. Other facilities at Dullingari and Moomba or a fly camp currently at Tarbat was used for small crews such as survey, clear and grade, reinstatement and hydrostatic testing.

Critical to the successful completion of this project were:-

• Management of Environment, Health and Safety.
• Meeting Santos project requirements.
• Management of personnel site transport.
• Location and protection of Santos existing facilities.
• Safe and efficient transport of line pipe.
• Management of camps and relocations.
