Design, construction and commissioning of replacement water mains

Water mains replacement, duplication and service replacement primarily in street works environment.

This contract is a term contract to undertake numerous small projects in and around the Brisbane City Council’s city limits. The work originates from various Brisbane Water programmes such as drought management, burst mains, capacity improvement, pressure reduction, de-bottlenecking, replacement and refurbishment programmes to improve the security of supply to an area.

The scope includes undertaking the initial investigations, site survey, preliminary and detailed design, obtaining approvals, supply of all materials, construction, traffic management, testing, commissioning, post construction survey and submission of ‘as constructed drawings’ and inspection and test plans.

The pipelines range in size from 100mm to 300mm diameter and the environment ranges from inner city streets to suburban areas to urban areas. The programme includes construction of pressure reduction valve pits, the respective pipe work and electrical control equipment. At any one time Diversified could be working on over 20 similar projects in parallel under this contract. All of the work is undertaken in streets and roads hence there is a high level of interaction with local residents and traffic management forms a large portion of the scope of the field work.
